Ibnul Qayyim (raihimAllah) gathered 1000 benefits from Surah Yusuf

12:3

“We relate to you, [O Muhammad], the best of stories in what We have revealed to you of this Qur’an although you were, before it, among the unaware.”
[Surah Yusuf 12:03]

There are 10 ways to address parents in the Arabic Language. The most beautiful and respectful form was used by Prophet Yusuf (Alahis salam) to address his father.

Judge people not on their beginnings but their endings.

Verify information from others before acting on it.

Parenting begins when you are choosing a spouse.

Anything that goes beyond its limits (hadd) it becomes harmful!

Do not marry the woman of your dreams rather marry the mother of your children.

In the dunyah the more academic examinations we do the higher our educational rank becomes similiarly the more tests we face in this life the higher our rank becomes in Jannah.

If you want to do the crime, be prepared to do the time!

Surah Yusuf is a madrassa, it contains a diverse amount of lessons.

All the characters in Surah Yusuf were tested and all ended up happy.

There are 28 letters in the Arabis Language and half are disjointed letters.

There is fatwa but higher is taqwa.

The Arabic language is a vessel that preserves the Islamic laws.

Ibn Abbaas (radiaAllahu Anhu) was named the interpreter of the Qur’an.

Listen, read AND PONDER over the Qur’an.

It is more harmful to know half then to know nothing.

It should be our aim to know the whole and not just half of the truth!

Even if you dislike a person your eemaan should make you just with them; Muslim or non-Muslim.

Yusuf addressed his father the best way a person can.

The Shari’ah of previous nations applies to us unless it has been abrogated by the Shari’ah of the Prophet (SallAllahu alahi wasalam.)

Piety is an essential ingredient when one is making dua, just as a salt is an essential ingredient when preparing a meat.

Studying the Shari’ah is one thing the application is another thing.

From the completeness of respect to your parents is avoiding worrying them.

Do not live your life up to the grave, live your life beyond the grave.

Unity generates strength.

Division and disputes are the cause of the Ummah’s defeat.

No crime is flawless (shown by s12:v18)

Everything comes in its own time, just be patient or it will be haram for you.

Judge people on their endings because Allah is going to judge you by your end.

If Allah loves you He will test you

3 steps in nurturing your child:
1) Command
2) Guidance
3) Comfort

If you look after the commands of Allah, Allah will look after you.

If you have Allahm, you have everything.

Allah will make you successful if you are successful with your parents.

A Believer never makes the same mistake twice.

Knowledge acquired is better than wealth acquired because wealth requires safeguarding whilst knowledge safeguards you.

Do not despair of Allah’s Mercy only disbelievers despair of Allah’s Mercy.

“You have the right to remain silent, there are Angels recording everything you say and it can be used against you in the Court of Allah.”

You cant plant haram seeds and expect halal fruits to grow.

Look at those below you in Worldly matters so that you dont forget the blessings of Allah. In matters of religion look at people above you so that you do not become complacent

How much time do you give to Allah in a day and how much time do you give to the dunya? – assess how productive you are.

Dont set small goals, this will be the reason for your downfall – aim high

Assist yourself in the things you do by keeping it a secret

We can learn lessons to improve ourselves from bad actions.

Prettiness comes from obedience to the commandments of Allah

We always have access to Allah

Aspire to inspire

With every hardship there are two eases.
So we should never lose hope in Allah’s Mercy, this must be engrained in ourselves so we can deal with difficulties in the best way when we face them.

Your tongue makes or break you.

Don’t ask ‘what can Islam give me?’ rather ask ‘what can you give Islam’

Life is an exam, it expires at death.

Teach kids today, they will do it tomorrow.

look at those in the dunya that have less than you so you are grateful, as for those above you in deen look up to them. .

Take advantage of the opportunities you have before those opportunities are gone!

Every breath is a chance to repent.

Forgive people and Allah will love you.

Don’t feel it, live it!

You reap what you sow.

Forgive AND FORGET.

All the Prophets followed the same theology, just the jurisprudence was different.

The soul is the electricity of the body.

We should be a catalyst of good.

After Ibrahim (Alahis salam) there was no mass punishment.

To be the best Ummah is a responsibility.

Tell people what they NEED to know not what they want to know.

Islam sets the norms, the norms do not set the Laws!

Verses 39 and 40 of Surah Yusuf are a madrassa for dawah.

the mission is to convey not convert.

We cant grow haram seeds and expect Halal seeds to grow.

When adrenaline is abumdant, wisdom isn’t.

Those loved by Allah are tested by Allah. .

A ture believer never makes the same mistake twice.

There is one thing called fatwa and there’s another thing called Taqwa!

Allah will make you successful if you are successful with your parents.
We are on a noble journey, these noble words of Allah (swt). We should be governed by Islam NOT society.
Yaqub (allaihi salaam) raised Yusuf (allaihi salaam) well; that’s why he was able to get through this journey.

You’re not a Hollywood figure; you don’t have to disclose everything you do and everything that is happening in your life online. Guard against the evil eye.

Bad dreams as a result of shaytaan interfering in our dreaming state.

Prophet (Sal Allahu allaihi wa sallam) never ignorant > he was unaware of certain matters!

Respect and Dua from parents = SUCCESS!

If you don’t teach your children, society will. Do not reveal this dream to your brothers.

Give good news (dreams) only to those whom you trust.

You can move mountains if you have the dua of your parents.

If you can’t do all of it, do most of it.

1000’s of lesson from Surah Yusuf e.g. good parent, patience, forgiveness, wisdom, dawah…

Yusuf (allaihi salaam) was protected due to his piety.

Half of knowledge is worse then none. There are always exceptions to the rules.

There is no contradiction in the Shari’ah, the contradiction exists in yours and my mind.

The Quran is the criterion for Muslims.

We need to correct our attitude to our parents so the future generations respect us.

Be wary of the waswasa (evil whispers) of shaytaan!

Give them (children) the time that they deserve.

Bring children up with advice backed by evidence.Treat them as intellectual as they are.

No blind following as everyone is prone to error + mistake.

Speaking on unconfirmed knowledge is a form of disunity and misguidance.

Endeavour to be just in your treatment + behaviour towards your children!

Honesty is the best policy.

We shouldn’t open the door to jealousy becoming prompt in our home.

Same Allah who gave to you, gave to them as well! Jealousy eats away good deeds like fire eats away wood!

Guard the tongue and make excuses for fellow muslimeen.

Life is not about doing what you want but it is to do what is right.

Place a smile on your parent’s heart – tell them you love them :-)

Don’t judge a person on their past; look at what they are today.

No one can say they did something in anger and they didn’t regret it.

Shaytan misguides in steps. He doesn’t do it in one go. Injustice of parents towards children, favouring one over others, breeds enmity between siblings.

One of the purpose of the Shari’ah is to SAVE lives not to TAKE lives.

The Shari’ah takes pride in looking after relationships, in protecting linage.

Be a shepherd not a sheep!

Trust your children but don’t trust shaytaan.

If you add to the truth…you subtract from it.

Strive to hide faults of others.

Alif – Lam – Ra – these letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah knows their meanings.Don’t learn then behave in a contradictory manner!

Fear Allah and He (swt) will teach you.

When Allah (swt) loves a person, He (swt) tests them.

Sins reap more sins. Good deeds lead to more good deeds.

Fostering is encourages in Islam.

Shaytan will not take you from guidance to misguidance in one go. He will take you in stages. Shaytan has got a PHD in this!

Be wary of whispers of shaytaan. He has a PhD in strategising and planning!

HONESTY = BEST POLICY

You have the right to remain silent, as everything you say and do WILL be used in the court of Allah on the day of Judgement!

Know ones linage so you may understand your identity.

Huroof al-Muqatta’ (the disjointed letters) I.e. ALIF LAM RA – are from the Mutashaabihaat (only Allah knows their meaning)

Don’t be jealous!

Shaytan was jealous and was thrown out of Jannah. Don’t let him take you down with him!

Don’t use the Quran using educated guesses.
